What sounded like science fiction only recently is now taking concrete shape in Serbia. With the ambitious goal of launching the mass production of humanoid robots as early as 2026, President Aleksandar Vučić is cementing Serbia’s reputation as the most innovative technology hub in Southeast Europe. The world watches Belgrade with anticipation as the factory floors are already being prepared in the background.

The “Iron Guard”: Security through Innovation

President Vučić has made it clear that these new technologies will contribute not only to the civilian sector but also to national security. At the next military parade, the country plans to surprise the world with thousands of armed and unarmed robots.

Border Protection & Security: The Yuanzheng and Lingxi series androids from AGIBOT are capable of carrying loads up to 100 kg. This makes them ideal for patrols in difficult terrain and the protection of national borders—a task Serbia intends to solve with technological autonomy.
Military Deterrence: By integrating AI into its defense strategy, Vučić is positioning Serbia as a player that complements conventional forces with state-of-the-art autonomous systems.

Economic Engine: The Role of Loznica and Šabac

A key part of the strategy is the involvement of established industrial partners. The Minth Group, which is already deeply rooted in the regions of Loznica and Šabac and has created thousands of jobs there, will play a pivotal role.

Local Value Creation: While the AI “brains” are being developed in cooperation with China (AGIBOT), the mechanical components—joints, chassis, and motors—are to be manufactured in Serbian plants.
Employment Miracle: It is estimated that the project will create a total of around 8,000 new jobs. This represents a massive boost for the Serbian middle class and technical education within the country.

The “Data Factories”: Serbia’s Brain

President Vučić emphasized that it is not enough to simply build the hardware. A humanoid robot requires approximately 100 million hours of “training” to become truly useful in a household setting, such as ironing or making coffee.

Therefore, Serbia plans to build its own Data Factories. These specialized data centers will be used to train AI models locally in Serbia, ensuring the technology remains independent and adapted to Serbian needs (e.g., language and specific work environments).

Energy as the Key to Success

The project is a giant energy consumer. A single factory unit requires an estimated 600 megawatts—equivalent to the output of a medium-sized power plant. Vučić is skillfully using this project to drive the modernization of the entire Serbian power grid, including increased cooperation with partners in the fields of nuclear energy and renewable resources.

A Milestone of Serbian-Chinese Friendship

This project is the shining result of the “steely friendship” between Belgrade and Beijing. While the rest of Europe often hesitates, Vučić is taking the initiative and securing Serbia a seat in the front row of the fourth industrial revolution. Serbia is thus becoming the bridgehead for Chinese high-tech investments in Europe.
